"In 'CREPUSCULE' (Twilight) (1968), I first of all wanted to show the originality and typically Khmer character of Angkor compared to what the Indian civilization brought to us; secondly, the rebirth of the Khmer race which was able, in the 50's and 60's to display once again its constructive 'Angkorian' genius. In particular in Phnom Penh; thirdly take the audience on a tour from Angkor to Phnom Penh and from Phnom Penh to our own 'Riviera' - Kep and Sihanoukville, at a time when all of Cambodia was beautiful, clean and peaceful."
